Amsterdam

Welcome to Amsterdam! From some of the world's best museums to the wildest parties, this city has something to offer to everybody. Make sure you book some extra days at your hotel to visit this beautiful city. The photogenic canals and bridges are possibly the most well known symbols of Amsterdam. Cruise them with a canal tour, which can be booked in the spot next to Centraal Station or online.

The best way to explore the city is by bike, which can be rented all around the city. We only recommend this option for experienced cyclist, since sharing a bike lane with the locals can be considered an extreme sport for those who can't keep up with their speed and agility on two wheels.

For those who want to visit Anne Frank's house, make sure you're fast booking your tickets two months in advance on their website or you probably won't be able to find tickets.

We have curated a map of the city with museums, hotspots, restaurants, and nightlife locations, which is available following this link

Getting There

The AUMC can be easily accessed by numerous Metro, Tram and bus lines from anywhere in the city itself and other surrounding cities. Here are some of the most common ways of reaching it by public transport:

  • From the Airport: Direct train to Amsterdam Zuid.

  • From the city:

    • Metro 50: Amstelveenseweg station.

    • Metro 51: De Boelelaan/VU stop.

    • Metro 52: Amsterdam Zuid stop.

    • Tram 24: VU medisch centrum stop.

    • Tram 5: De Boelelaan/VU stop.

    • Bus 62: VU medisch centrum stop.

Dinner

The dinner will take place in StrandZUID, a restaurant in RAI convention centre on May 27th at 6 pm. Bellow you can find a map with its location and you can download a .pdf file with useful indications on how to get there by clicking this link.

Accommodation

Due to the easy connection with public transport, most hotels in the city are suitable for this meeting. There are a Novotel and a Holiday Inn at the end of the road, from which you can walk to the AUMC or take bus 62. There are other suitable options, very well connected with public transportation with the locations of the workshop, which can be found in the map with spots of interest that we have previously provided (or following this link).
